WPA invites you to The Contemporary Print, a juried exhibition of contemporary Texas printmaking to be held at Big Medium Gallery at Canopy during PrintAustin 2014.
Our exhibition will be a survey of the traditions and the innovations of contemporary printmaking happening in Texas today. Primary techniques for this exhibition must be lithography, relief, intaglio, monoprint/monotype, serigraphy, but may include ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, and artist’ books. We only ask that the primary technique(s) used be one of those listed above.
JURORS Francesca Consagra is the Senior Curator of Prints and Drawings and European Paintings at The Blanton Museum of Art, Katherine Brimberry is the co-founder and owner of Flatbed Press and Senior Master Printer, and Jeffrey Dell is an artist and Professor of Studio Art and Head of Printmaking at Texas State University-San Marcos. Combined, our team of jurors have curated and organized over 200 exhibitions and authored a wide range of critical and art historical articles, exhibition catalogs, reviews, and books.
PRIZES: 1st place $400, 2nd place $300, 3rd place $200
