6th Annual 125-Mile Visual Arts Exhibition
June 30 – August 5, 2011

The 125-Mile Exhibition was initiated in 2006 to establish a regional, high-quality juried art exhibition for artists living within a 125-mile radius of Denton, Texas, to compete and show their work.

Juror
John Hartley's body of work includes paintings,prints, and sculpture. A graduate of Texas Christian University, Hartley's work has been exhibited throughout Texas and the United States and is included in collections across the country. His exhibitions include shows at Kidder Smith Gallery in Boston and Martha's Vineyard; the Arlington Museum of Art; The Barth Galleries in Columbus, Ohio; and galleries in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Houston, Texas. In 1990, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth purchased two of his monoprints for its exhibition, Forty Texas Printmakers.

In 1995, Hartley opened Gallery 414 in Fort Worth, an alternative art gallery exhibiting local and regional contemporary artists. Hartley's art reflects his many interests including the human figure, toy collecting, and social issues. A teacher and a professional art handler, Hartley actively promotes art education and encourages young people to develop creative talent and thought.

All artists residing within a 125-mile radius of Denton,Texas.

Best of Show $400; Total awards $1,600 +
