UNT Printmakers at MAPC: Print City 2014

UNT printmakers participated in the 2014 Mid America Print Council conference from September 24 through 27 at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan:
  • Artist-in-Residence Randy Bolton (BFA 1978) led the PrintMedia Tour at Cranbrook Academy of Art;
  • Laura Drapac (MFA) participated in an exchange portfolio “Inspired by Mary” at U245 Gallery at WSU;
  • Professor Lari Gibbons participated in “Finding Printmaking's Place in an Interdisciplinary and Post Digital World,” a panel presentation chaired by Jonathan McFadden and David Wischer of the University of Kentucky;
  • Kristine Joy Mallari (BFA) represented Gamblin Artists Colors at the Vendor's Fair;
  • Brian Spolans (MFA) demonstrated “Controlled Chaos: Versatility and Variety of Mark-Making within Screenprint” with Jennifer Ghormley and Nichole Maury;
  • And work produced at P.R.I.N.T was included in Impress(ed) at Alfred Berkowitz Gallery at the  University of Michigan-Dearborn. Impress(ed) is a gathering of print-based works brought together to reveal the range, prevalence and scope of printmaking in America as it is happening today. The inspiration for the show comes from the forthcoming publication called Contemporary American Printmakers.
