Curated from the CVAD collection, this exhibition features paintings, prints, ceramics and sculptures that express moments of human dignity.
This exhibition is curated from the collection and presents both figurative works and abstract works suggestive of the figure that portray moments of human dignity. Expressions of interior struggle and contemplation, the body and being, and community with others are the major themes, including traces of the human touch, stories of triumph, and depictions of toil, leisure and adventure. This curatorial focus grew from the powerful gestures and emotions conveyed in alumni David Baker's painting, Survey, and American 20th-century sculptor Jack Zajac’s bronze, Mother and Child.
