Dallas LGBTQ Youth Project: MUD Campaign
About the Project:
Approximately 260,000-520,000 LGBTQ youth are homeless in America*. The Mud Campaign seeks to bring awareness about this shocking statistic and bridge connections between Dallas' LGBTQ youth, people around the world, and Dallas' art communities. The Mud Campaign also seeks to raise funds for Youth First Resource Center Dallas. This campaign is being launched in conjunction with the MAC's New Urban Landscape series.
How to Get Involved:
Post photographs, video, and/or writings to facebook/instagram/twitter about your interpretation of what it means to be human or any of the 10 points in the Mud Philosophy using #mudismud and #mudcampaign. To see what other people are posting, check out the Live Feed on the Mud Campaign website. This archive of hashtags expresses the various expressions of day to day life and illustrates our human diversity. In addition to the live feed archive, there will be a site specific exhibition at the MAC, 1601 South Ervay Street Dallas, Texas. Exhibition opens September 17 and will run until October 8. We will be raising money at the opening as well as accepting on-line donations. If you would like to donate directly to Youth First Resource Center, please feel free to fill out your request on the contact page.
