Lari Gibbons at Printmaking Convergence


UNT Printmaking faculty member Lari Gibbons will participate in "A Conversation on Printmaking" at the University of Texas at Austin's Printmaking Convergence. 

Moderated by Ken Hale and Leonard Lehrer, the panel discussion takes place against the backdrop of New Prints 2010, the thirty-seventh presentation of International Print Center New York's (IPCNY) New Prints Program.

Panelists will include artist Trenton Doyle Hancock; curator Peter Briggs; Hellen DeVitt Jones, curator of art at the Museum of Texas Tech University; master printer Katherine Brimberry, co-director of Flatbed Press and Gallery; artist Lari Gibbons, associate professor of printmaking at the University of North Texas; and curator Lyle Williams, curator of Prints and Drawings at the McNay Museum of Art.

Ultimately, regardless of the specifics of the occasion, I do think that having 60-80 people take the time on a Sunday to get together and discuss printmaking reinforces that sense of community that typifies the medium.––Jason Urban
