Remote Contact Conference // Extended Deadline for Proposals

EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS – NOW DUE THURSDAY JANUARY 21, 2021. Proposals from current undergraduate and graduate students, in the United States and abroad, are being accepted. Students who graduated during the 2019-2020 academic year are also invited to submit proposals and to attend the symposium.

The symposium will include a keynote address by Miranda Metcalf, founder of the printmaking podcast pine|copper|lime; a plenary presentation by Umberto Giovannini, Director of the Opificio della Rosa, a printmaking studio based in Morciano di Romagna, Italy; and a second plenary presentation on “Playing Cards as Drivers for the Development of Print in Europe,” co-presented by University of Tennessee, Knoxville art history faculty members Kelli Wood and Sean Roberts. We look forward to receiving your proposals.

Students are invited to submit proposals for a variety of symposium events including

·         Five panel sessions on a range of topics

·         Three virtual printmaking exhibitions curated by students

·         Time-based program featuring films and animations using print media

·         An exchange portfolio

The symposium will also include a Friday evening social virtually hosted by the Remote Contact Steering Committee as well as a Saturday Night Virtual Dance Party with Sarah Shebaro, “Mini Tiger.”
