Lancaster, Texas. Cedar Valley
College Educational Art Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of
artworks by Luke Ball. RITUALS IN RUST will be on view FEBRUARY 24 – APRIL 5,
2015. The show features prints and drawings made by Ball in last 2 years. The exhibition
is a representative collection of the work produced while earning his Masters
of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas. Luke’s artwork
addresses ideas related to masculinity, social norms, American culture, and
stability. Using objects that relate to his person narrative and interpretations
of cultural masculinity to form a visual language, Luke creates a masked narrative,
which is open to individual interpretations. He exploits the absurdity, yet theoretically
plausibility of these haphazardly built structures through satire and humor.
Primarily working with printmaking processes, he also often works with drawing,
collage, and sculpture. Luke exhibits his work regularly both nationally and
internationally and recently exhibited work at the International Print Center
in New York, NY.
Open to the public 8am-8pm Monday through Friday.
