Syd Webb's Bio Statement:
I like prints and the people who make them. If it gets printed by hand, cranked through something made of cast iron or exists in a multiple, I’m intrigued. My parents have operated a home printing business since I was a child. In between those days and these days, I’ve worked in various shops and continued to seek out printers and the things they make. The experience of working with my family, editioning for artists and designers, working for the university and now working with my friends in their shops and mine, shapes my practice today. I’m interested in the idea of contemporary homesteading and draw my imagery from an array of historical patriotic themes. It’s the intersection of family, land and print that is still the basis for much of my work.
