Voertman's Exhibition!

Congratulations UNT printmaking graduate students Sarah Ellis, Jessie Barnes, and Kayla Seedig who were selected for the Voertman's Exhibition!  Kayla Seedig was awarded an honorable mention!

Displayed in the UNT Art Gallery and open to all currently enrolled CVAD students, the annual Voertman Competition is a time-honored celebration of artistic achievement and promise.
Started in 1960 by Mr. Paul Voertman, founder of the Voertman’s store, the exhibition is juried each year by an accomplished arts professional and provides students with real-world experience. Since 1960, thousands of artists have exhibited their works and hundreds have received cash prizes. Sponsored by the Voertman’s store, individual donors and CVAD programs, prizes are awarded by the juror at his or her discretion.

About the Juror

Rachael Blackburn Cozad has over twenty-five years of comprehensive experience in top leadership positions in the visual arts. She is the owner and senior appraiser of fine art and rare wine at Madison Group Fine Art Appraisals, and also a private art dealer and owner of Rachael Cozad Fine Art, both based in Kansas City, Missouri.
Rachael holds a M.A. in art history from California State University, Los Angeles, and a B.A. from Texas Christian University. She is a certified member of the Appraisers Association of America and provides Fine Art Appraisals for Insurance, Charitable Donation IRS purposes, for estate planning and equitable distribution. Her areas of expertise include Post-War, Contemporary and Emerging Art; 19th Century European Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture; American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture; Impressionist & Modern Painting, Drawings & Sculpture; Prints; 20th Century Photography, and Fine & Rare Wine.
