P.A.N.T.S Steamroller Event a Success!

The Space Between at Constellation Studios

Work by Associate Professor Lari Gibbons appears in The Space Between, an exhibition at Constellation Studios in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Founded in 2013 by Karen Kunc, Constellation Studios is a creative gallery, workspace and professional classroom that hosts workshops, residencies, and other professional opportunities focused on printmaking, artist books, and papermaking. Upcoming classes include A Bookmaking Workshop: Influences East & West and Color Woodcut Printmaking. Course credit is available to UNT Printmakers who take the Color Woodcut Workshop; contact Lari Gibbons for details.

Jon Vogt Featured in UNT Research Journal


Jon Vogt's (MFA 2015) screenprint collage Syntactic Analyzers is featured in the UNT Research Magazine.  The article "Art Meets Science,"  focuses  on six areas of research where the arts and science are collaborating at UNT.  The final part of the article discusses the Metabolic Science in Art Student Exhibition co-organized by professor Andrew DeCaen in Studio Art and Dr Guido Verbeck in Chemistry.  Read the article at http://www.unt.edu/untresearch/2013-2014/art-meets-science.htm

Congratulations Raupe Grant Recipients

Congratulations to UNT Printmakers Jaime Durham and Melody Vaughan, who received Raupe Travel Grants to participate in the 2014 Flatbed Contemporary Print Fair in Austin, Texas. They helped P.R.I.N.T Press install a booth of fine art prints and assisted Professor Lari Gibbons' Fab! Print Lab demonstration. 

Melody (MFA 2016) is the graduate area assistant at P.R.I.N.T Press and Jaime (BFA 2014) is an intern.

UNT Printmakers receive scholarships

Congratulations to UNT Printmakers who received CVAD scholarships:

Luke Ball (MFA 2015) got the 2014 Chadwick Family Studio Arts Scholarship for $1000,
Preston Bradley (MFA 2015) received the Elliot Scholarship for $1000, and
Jaime Durham (BFA 2014) was awarded the Paul Voertman Undergraduate Scholarship for $1,000.

Jon Vogt and Francisco Alvarado in Voertman's Exhibition

Jon Vogt (MFA 2015) and Francisco Alvarado (BFA 2015) were selected for the 54th Annual Voertman Competition and Exhibition at the UNT Art Gallery.  This year, Voertman's Store has sponsored $3,500 in cash prizes and $1,000 in gift certificates for merchandise.  Come see the exhibition!

Juergen Strunck In Retrospect: 45 Years of Teaching

Sarina Fuhrmann (MFA 2010) and professor Andrew DeCaen will be featured in an exhibition of University of Dallas printmaking Alumni.  The exhibition is made on the occasion of the retirement of  University of Dallas Professor Juergen Strunck who has been an integral part of the national and international printmaking community and taught printmaking for the last forty-five years.
