Artists' Books Competition and Biennial Exhibition

The awards were announced last Friday at the opening Reception:
Purchase Award:  Adam Rowlett (MFA Printmaking 2014),
Tie for First Place: Kai Peter Martin (MFA, Painting, 2014) and Yuji Hiratsuka (Professor of Art, Oregon State University)
Second Place:  Quynh "Su" Tran (BFA 2014)

36 artist's books were selected for the exhibition from artists from several states.  The purposes of the competition and exhibition are:  to encourage the development of students’ work in the medium of Artists' Books, to foster the creation of Artists' Books, to reward excellence and creativity in the Artists' Books, and to build the collection of Artists' Books in the UNT Rare Book & Texana Collections. the exhibition was juried by Andrew DeCaen, Assistant Professor, College of Visual Arts and Design, UNT; Morgan Gieringer, Head of UNT Libraries Archives & Rare Books; Joshua Sylve, Graphic Designer, UNT Libraries External Relations; and Anne Schoolfield, Board Member, Friends of the Libraries, UNT.
