Brett Rees' MFA Exhibition at UWM

Linda Santana and Chris Wallace Visiting Artists at UNC Pembroke

Students work with Chris Wallace and Linda Santana at UNCP

Linda Santana (MFA 2013) and Chris Wallace (MFA 2013) were invited to be visiting artists at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke by Professor Brandon Sanderson.  Chris and Linda spent 5 days at UNCP April 8-12, 2013.  They each made a presentation on their MFA research and demonstrations on chine collé, stone lithography onto metal, and multi-plate photo lithography.   Fourteen UNCP Students collaborated with Chris and Linda to create one large 5-run photo lithograph with relief, several small stone lithographs with chine collé, and a stone lithograph printed on aluminum.  Chris and Linda also had the opportunity to critique several UNCP students and be ambassadors for our CVAD programs.  Linda Santana and Chris Wallace's trip was made possible in part by the University of North Carolina Visiting Artist Program and the UNT College of Visual Art and Design's Student Project Awards.

Anna Peterson's Sharpie Litho Demonstrations

Anna Peterson's Sharpie Flats Demonstrations

Ana Peterson (BFA 2014) led a "Sharpie Marker Flats" demonstration in the Advanced Lithography class.   Anna learned from Richard Peterson, a master, innovator, and promoter of this wonderful technique.  In addition to being a Professor of Art at College of the Sequoias in Visalia California, Richard is also Anna's Father.  Anna's demonstrations showed how sharpie flats can make certain kinds of multi-color lithography a little faster.  Thanks Anna!

Join us as we celebrate Denton business support for the arts with the 53rd Annual Voertman Student Art Competition, supported by Voertman’s store, “a North Texas tradition since 1925.” The Voertman Competition is synonymous with student excellence in the College of Visual Arts and Design, featuring a juried selection of must-see new works in all media by undergraduate and graduate students.
