Kristine Joy Mallari (Alumnus, BFA 2011) has a solo exhibition opening at Reading Frenzy, an independent Press and Imporium in Portland, Oregon. The exhibition titled Seasons of Joyland examines how experiences and environment shape our perceptions on time and place.
The exhibition will also feature Kristine Joy's book project, TX vs OR in which Nine Texas artists and Nine Oregon artists sent drawings that were bound into two collaborative artist's books. Among the artists in this book are Josh Banks, Harrison Bucy, Letty Gomez, Fields Harrington, Linda Santana, Taylor McClure, Adam Palmer, Hank St. John, and Christopher Wallace. Chloe Eudaly, proprietor of Reading Frenzy will select the winning book. There will also be a ballot box to see what the popular vote says after one month of installation.
