Proceed and Be Bold!: A Review by Adam Rowlett

A Review of Proceed and Be Bold! by Adam Rowlett

Proceed and Be Bold! is a documentary on the life and work of letterpress printer Amos Paul Kennedy Junior.

Kennedy did not discover letterpress until he was in his forties, and the film tells of how he quit his job as a systems analyst when he found the medium and began his career as an artist.
Kennedy's prints are provocative, with content ranging from race and society to politics – and following in a long tradition of production letterpress printing, his works are inexpensive and meant for distribution.

Offering interviews with family, friends, and colleagues as well as Kennedy himself, Proceed and Be Bold! is an engaging, informative and entertaining look into the life of a dedicated and accomplished printmaker.

The DVD is available at UNT's Visual Resource Center.
