Charles Beneke is an associate professor of art at the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art at the University of Akron in Ohio where he is the printmaking area coordinator. He is on the board of directors of The Morgan Conservatory, a non-profit center for papermaking and book arts in Cleveland, Ohio. His current work, in a broad range of print media, paintings, and installations, explores the beauty of the arctic environment while urging the viewer to confront his/her responsibility role in its fragile state.
